Dr. Philip Bunker

I am interested in understanding the problems associated with the development and application of theoretical methods for predicting, analyzing and understanding the results of high resolution molecular spectroscopy experiments on gas phase molecules. Areas of particular interest are molecular symmetry and its breakdown; the rovibronic spectra of very flexible (floppy) molecules; and the breakdown of the Born-Oppenheimer approximation.
